CHOSEN WORD

Chosen Word:
A Practice of Presence

Selecting a word, Scripture, or quote is not about setting goals or predicting outcomes. It’s about attentiveness — creating space to listen for what God may be shaping beneath the surface. A word can help name a season. A Scripture can steady you while the path is still unfolding. A quote that becomes a steady reminder you return to when life feels heavy. Sometimes the word comes first. Sometimes the Scripture finds you later. Sometimes a quote rises to the surface and lingers in your heart. And sometimes, as it did for me, the quote, the Scripture, and the word gently align over time through prayer, reflection, and stillness. What matters most is presence.

How You Might Begin

You may notice:

• A word that continues to rise gently to the surface
• A theme that echoes through prayer, conversation, or stillness
• A verse that feels as though it has been walking beside you
• A quote or encouraging phrase that lingers in your heart

There is no urgency to decide. This is not about getting it “right,” but about staying receptive.

A Pause for Reflection

You might gently ask yourself:

  • What feels unfinished, unfolding, or quietly forming in my life?

  • What am I being invited to release—or to receive?

  • Is there a word or scripture that brings both peace and invitation?

  • Is there a quote that offers steadiness or hope?

Let your reflection be honest. Let it take time.

An Open, Ongoing Invitation

Whether you arrive here early in a season or well into it, you are welcome. This space exists to encourage reflection, presence, and listening — trusting that God continues to speak in ways that are trustworthy and true. May what you discover become a quiet companion, guiding you gently through the season you are in.

If you feel led, you’re welcome to share your word and Scripture with me, knowing that while I may not always be able to respond personally, I do hold each message in prayer with great expectation.
