Choosing You: A Moment for Reflection

Recently, I had the opportunity to speak at a women’s conference about Emotional Care and share one of my journal pages titled “Choose You.”

During the session, we spent time coloring, reflecting, and having honest conversations about something many of us struggle with: the difficulty of putting ourselves on our own list.

For many people, choosing themselves feels uncomfortable. Some even feel that focusing on their own well-being might be selfish. But what we discussed together is that choosing yourself is not selfish—it is wisdom.

When we take time to care for our mental, spiritual, physical, and emotional health, we strengthen our ability to show up well for the people and responsibilities in our lives.

For me personally, this reflection has shown up in a very practical way. I have realized that I need to grow stronger in honoring my body, especially when it comes to eating well and exercising consistently. My body has carried me faithfully for almost 52 years, and it deserves care and respect.

This reflection led me to ask a few questions that I want to share with you:

What changes do you need to make that support you mentally, spiritually, physically, or emotionally?

What would it look like to honor yourself by becoming the best version of yourself possible?

Sometimes the changes we need to make are small. Sometimes they require courage.

But every step toward caring for ourselves is a step toward living more fully in the life we have been given.

I would love to hear your thoughts.

What area of your life is inviting you to make a change right now?

Please share your thoughts by adding a comment below this post.

Peace,

Steph D. Clark

Taking the time to show self love to my mature self has been life changing. It took courage and faith but ultimately the change I made was for my good. I LOVE ME!!!!! Thank you, Steph for reminding us.
